School Board Happenings

The Board of Education would like to thank Chevron for their commitment to partner with De Beque School District 49JT.  Their generous donation of $10,000 will go a long way to provide additional resources for the students of De Beque Schools. We would like to recognize Todd Bryan, Fabian Archuleta, and Michael Herrera for presenting the check to the BOE. We are honored by your presence and support. ~Board of Education, De Beque School District 49JT

Mission, Vision, and Values

District Mission: The DeBeque School will develop the whole child, through partnership with our parents and community. All students will be provided a safe learning environment to instill high standards of academic success, integrity, leadership and responsible citizenship.

District Vision: We believe that all students should be provided exceptional opportunities to achieve personal, career, and college success. This will be accomplished through quality instruction, high accountability, a safe and technologically advanced learning and teaching environment for students and staff, relevant programming, and comprehensive stakeholder involvement.

District Values: The District is dedicated to excellence, community service, collaboration, perseverance, and innovation.

Letters of Interest

The Board of Education of the De Beque School District is calling for letters of interest to become a

school board member. School Board meetings are usually once a month, usually on the fourth Thursday

at 4:30 in the afternoon in the school board room. There are five members on the board and members

must live within the boundaries of the De Beque School District. Members may have students who

attend the school but that is not a requirement. School employees may not be members of the Board

unless they are athletic directors, substitute staff, or coaches.

Please submit letters of interest to the Secretary to the Board, Maria Ramthun, at the school district

office at 730 Minter Ave, mail them to PO Box 70, De Beque, CO 81630, or email them to

mramthun@debeque.k12.co.us. Letters will be accepted until 4:30 pm November 13, 2023. There will

be a special board meeting on November 14, 2023, for the current board members to meet the

candidates. Successful candidates will be sworn in at the regularly scheduled meeting on November 30,

at 4:30 pm and will begin Board business at that meeting.
